Kellogg's signs Gabby Douglas after gold-medal performance

Kellogg’s signed an endorsement deal with Gabby Douglas, becoming the second company to sign the gymnastics all-around gold-medal-winning teen.

The company plans to feature Douglas on special-edition boxes of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes this fall.

Douglas was virtually unknown to sponsors at the start of 2012. She didn’t sign her first deal, with Procter & Gamble, until after she won the all-around competition at the U.S. Olympic Trials last month.

Kellogg’s is a USA Gymnastics sponsor and the title sponsor of the post-Olympics tour featuring the men’s and women’s gymnastics team. The tour will visit nearly 50 cities in the weeks after the Games.

In a statement, Doug VanDeVelde, senior vice president of Morning Foods, Kellogg Co., said, “We are proud to support the potential of our young athletes and our amazing team of U.S. Gymnasts. Over the course of the past week, we have all shared in the thrilling moments and passion of USA Gymnastics, and we are excited to bring that into the homes of families across the country."
