CAA Sports adds to its roster of NFL veterans

CAA Sports has signed eight veteran NFL players for representation, including Houston Texans outside linebacker Whitney Mercilus and Los Angeles Rams inside linebacker Alec Ogletree, who were both named to the All-Pro second team last season.

CAA Football also signed New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson, Carolina Panthers wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin, Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Aaron Colvin, Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Dontrelle Inman and Seattle Seahawks outside linebacker K.J. Wright.

CAA Football co-head Todd France and agents Tory Dandy, Jim Denton and Patrick Collins are representing the players.

Mercilus was represented by Vanguard Sports, Ogletree by SportsWest Football and Anderson by Sports International Group.

Benjamin had been represented by Eugene Parker, who died in March 2016.

Jack had been represented by John Thornton, who left Octagon for Roc Nation Sports in May 2016. But Jack had been without an agent for a while, as Jack did not go with Thornton to Roc Nation.

Inman was represented by Paramount Sports and Entertainment and Wright by BC Sports.

Wright, who plays on a star-studded Seattle defense, was named to his first Pro Bowl in January. Mercilus, Ogletree and Benjamin were first-round selections in the 2012, 2013 and 2014 drafts, respectively.

In the 2017 draft, CAA Sports represented nine first-round picks (see story, Page 12).
