Colleges
SUNY Geneseo hired Brett Ford as assistant director of athletic communications and media relations. Ford was sports information director at Wesley College.

Rice University hired Curtis Canty as director of compliance services. Canty was assistant director of compliance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee promoted Leah Thyne to assistant athletic director of marketing and fan experience and Chris Zills to assistant athletic director of strategic communications.

Morgan State University promoted Erlease Wagner to deputy athletic director.

Iona College promoted Matt Glovaski to deputy athletic director.

Facilities
Gensler named Brooks Howell, Byron Chambers and Jonathan Kelley principals for the firm. Howell will be based in Houston and Chambers and Kelley in Dallas.

Football
The San Francisco 49ers hired John Lynch as general manager and Adam Peters as vice president of player personnel. Lynch was an NFL analyst for Fox, and Peters was director of college scouting for the Denver Broncos.

Golf
The PGA of America named John Easterbrook Jr. chief membership officer. Easterbrook was executive vice president and chief operating officer at Troon.

The Columbus Blue Jackets hired Ryan Shirk as vice president of corporate partnerships.

The Ottawa Senators named Tom Anselmi president and chief executive officer.

Lacrosse
Major League Lacrosse’s Chesapeake Bayhawks hired Mark Burdett as president. Burdett was president and general manager for Tegna Media’s WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C.

Law
Bass, Berry & Sims named Tim Browne counsel in the firm’s Nashville office. Browne was vice president of legal and business affairs and co-head of the media legal group for the NBA.

Greenberg Traurig hired Kieron Frazier as an associate in the public finance practice at the firm’s Chicago office. Frazier was with DLA Piper’s global media, sports and entertainment group.

Advantage promoted Jaime Cabrera to senior vice president and executive creative director, Andrew Cohn to director of marketing solutions and Ayana Duncanson to senior account executive.

ANC named Jessica LaTorre senior designer for product visualization and Zach Heglund lead technician in the company’s Philadelphia office.

Excel Sports Management named Christina Milano director of business development. Milano was manager of team partnership sales for Madison Square Garden Co.

Independent Sports & Entertainment hired Michael Ehrlich as vice president of marketing communications. Ehrlich was director of public relations for Adidas.

WITT
CSE hired Cory Witt as director of marketing and Ginny Miller as a strategic digital coordinator. Witt was with Hot Sauce and Miller with AEG.

Learfield hired Steve Gracio as general manager at San Jose State University. Gracio was sales manager of corporate partnerships for the San Jose Sharks.

McLaren Marketing hired Ben Priest as vice president of partnership development for the Americas. Priest was vice president of business development for Excel Sports Management.

Octagon promoted Andy Bush to executive vice president of events; Christine Franklin and Nick Griffith to senior vice president; Lesley Baker, Harry Hardy, Aldo Kafie, Noah Kolodny, Sebastian Oddo and Scot Weintraub to vice president; and Myron Nilsson, Matthew Hilliker, Erika Lang, Matthew Perez, Parisa Howard and Kerry Rodgerson to group director.

BaAM Productions hired Steve Lange as vice president of brand experience.

Outdoor Sportsman Group promoted Tom Caraccioli to vice president of communications.

Rebel Ventures hired Josh Ober as director of digital strategy. Ober was sports partnerships manager for Twitter.

Tribune Media Co. Chief Executive Officer Peter Liguori will step down from his position in March.

Univision Communications promoted Rick Resnick to senior vice president of sports partner solutions.

YES Network hired Ted Marino as vice president of finance. Marino was vice president of financial planning and analysis for Westwood One.

Multiteam Companies
Oilers Entertainment Group named Steve Violetta vice president of corporate sales. Violetta was chief executive officer for Steven Bros. Sports Management.

Soccer
The Houston Dynamo hired Travis Piercefield as senior manager of digital strategy. Piercefield was digital marketing manager for Phoenix International Raceway.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
Flywheel Sports named Sarah Robb O’Hagan chief executive officer. O’Hagan was global president for Equinox.

Sports Commissions and Tourism Boards
The National Association of Sports Commissions named Alan Kidd, former president of the San Diego Sports Commission, president and chief executive officer. Kidd succeeds Don Schumacher.

The Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau named Dave Beachnau senior vice president of sales, marketing and sports, and promoted Kris Smith to director of the Detroit Sports Commission.

Anthony Travel promoted Leslie Wurzberger to senior vice president of event services.

Awards and Boards
The NASCAR Foundation named Susan Schandel, NASCAR senior vice president and chief financial officer, to its board.

The Sports Turf Managers Association named to its board of directors Tim VanLoo, president; Sarah Martin, president-elect; Jeff Salmond, immediate past president; Jody Gill, secretary and treasurer; Doug Schattinger, vice president of commercial; Weston Appelfeller, professional facilities director; Elizabeth Guertal, academic director; Nick McKenna, higher education director; Sun Roesslein, schools K-12 director; Boyd Montgomery, commercial director; Matt Anderson, elected-at-large director, and Randy Price and Jimmy Simpson, board members.

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism appointed Steve Salem, Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation president, commissioner of service and volunteerism.
