In The Office: Sporting Kansas City

Sporting Kansas City has a new headquarters, but the team is staying in the neighborhood.

The MLS team now leases 14,000 square feet on the fourth floor of a building in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District, five blocks from its previous location. The old space grew crowded as both the team and spinoff business FanThreeSixty added staff.

“This was an opportunity for us to get all our people back onto one floor,” said Sporting KC President Jake Reid. “If there is any preceived barrier, even if it’s just a set of stairs, it sometimes inhibits communication.”

The new space has more art to show off the Sporting KC brand, and even a little AstroTurf.

“We … think the Crossroads [Arts District] fits us well from a culture standpoint,” Reid said. “It feels like home.”
