Baseball
The San Diego Padres named former MLB player Skip Schumaker assistant to baseball operations and player development.

Basketball
The Atlanta Hawks named Pete Thuresson senior vice president of corporate partnerships. Thuresson was vice president of corporate partnerships for the Los Angeles Clippers.

The NBA named Byron Spruell president of league operations. Spruell was vice chairman and central region market leader at Deloitte.

The Los Angeles Clippers promoted Lawrence Frank to executive vice president of basketball operations.

The Detroit Pistons names Jon Phelps general manager of the NBA D-League’s Grand Rapids Drive.

Colleges
The University of Iowa hired Charlie Taylor as associate athletic director for strategic communications and marketing. Taylor was assistant athletic director for ticket sales and operations at the University of Oklahoma.

West Virginia University named Keli Cunningham deputy athletic director, Steve Uryasz executive senior associate athletic director, Matt Wells senior associate athletic director for external affairs, Michael Fragale senior associate athletic director for athletic communications, Cathy Martin executive administrative assistant, April Messerly associate athletic director for athletic facilities and operations, Zach Eckert assistant athletic director for facilities and operations, Kevin Miller associate athletic director for the annual fund, and Susan Hammond assistant athletic director for donor relations.

The American Athletic Conference promoted Michael Costa to senior director of football administration, Catherine Carmignani to director of branding and sport administration, Jamie Corun to assistant director of digital communications and Hali Oughton to assistant director of digital media and reporter.

The University of Minnesota named John Cunningham deputy athletic director for administration and Rhonda McFarland deputy athletic director and chief financial officer. Cunningham and McFarland held the same positions at Syracuse University.

Facilities
AEG Facilities named Dale Adams general manager of Gila River Arena. Adams remains vice president of content development for AEG Facilities.

Football
The NFL hired David Thomson as managing director of NFL Canada. Thomson was vice president of strategic marketing and investments for Coca-Cola Canada.

The Minnesota Vikings promoted Scott Kuhn to director of analytics and Anne Doepner to director of football administration. Kuhn remains a pro scout.

Hockey
The American Hockey League named Emily Vance to coordinator of special projects.

Labor and Agents
The NFLPA named Brandon Parker communications manager. Parker was a sports reporter at The Washington Post.
 
Marketing

DEJARNETT
The Aspire Group promoted Greg Darr and Donny Brown to senior sales and service consultant at Colorado State University, Brian Treiser to senior director of ticket sales and services at Florida Atlantic University and Jesse Moreno to senior sales and service consultant at Santa Clara University, and hired James Fickes as sales and service consultant at Colorado State, Dillon Del Rosso as new business consultant at the University of Maryland, and Sam DeJarnett to sales and service consultant at Miami University.

Allstate hired Gannon Jones as senior vice president of product marketing. Jones was vice president of brand marketing at MillerCoors.
