Basketball
The Detroit Pistons promoted Pat Garrity to assistant general manager and Andrew Loomis to chief of staff. Otis Smith was hired as director of player development and assistant coach.

Colleges
Wayne State University hired Sam Olson as assistant athletic director for compliance and NCAA liaison. Olson was assistant compliance director for monitoring at Eastern Michigan University.

The Southeastern Conference named Dan Leibovitz associate commissioner for men’s basketball. Leibovitz held the same position for the American Athletic Conference.

Georgia Tech hired Mike Flynn as assistant athletic director for communications and public relations. Flynn was assistant athletic director for sports information at Appalachian State University.

Rutgers University promoted Sarah Baumgartner to deputy athletic director.

Southeast Missouri State University named Brady Barke athletic director.

The University of Connecticut hired Beth Goetz as chief operating officer and senior woman administrator. Goetz was deputy athletic director and senior woman administrator at the University of Minnesota before serving as interim athletic director.

Facilities
GSW Arena named Eric Bresler executive director of Chase Center, future home of the Golden State Warriors. Bresler was vice president of event booking and development for AEG Facilities.

Football
The Washington Redskins named Dr. Robin West, Inova Sports Medicine medical director, director of sports medicine.

Hockey

The American Hockey League’s Springfield (Mass.) Thunderbirds hired Chris Thompson as senior vice president of sales and strategy and Cortney Hersom as vice president of finance. Thompson was senior vice president and Hersom vice president of finance for the Springfield Falcons.

Law
Rimon Law named sports and entertainment attorney Matthew Pace a partner in its New York office. Pace was a partner for Arent Fox.

Marketing
The Marketing Arm hired Scott Malaga as vice president of sports consulting. Malaga was senior director of national sales for Learfield Sports.

The Aspire Group for its Georgia Tech property promoted Cameron Ilich to senior group sales consultant, Jackson Willis to senior service consultant and Taryn Applebaum to service consultant, and hired Sally Folz and Curtis Wallin as sales consultants.

Bulldawg Marketing hired Mike Dever as director of client engagement. Dever was director of new business at HB&M Sports.

Fox Networks Group Chief Financial Officer Del Mayberry will retire. Ravi Ahuja, executive vice president of business operations and development, was named Mayberry’s successor.

NESN promoted Michael Hall to senior vice president of digital.

Golf Channel promoted Kevin Schultz to senior director of lifestyle content and named Kevin Endsley senior director of franchise development and innovation, Jon Kropp vice president of digital strategy, Phil Piazza senior vice president of programming and Mary Stack vice president of marketing strategy.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
GoPro hired Philip Grieco as director of sports marketing for global motorsports and mass sports. Grieco was senior director of marketing solutions for Repucom.

Nike named Craig Zanon vice president and general manager of Nike Global Basketball, replacing Michael Jackson, who resigned.

Under Armour named Dave Dombrow chief design officer.

Sports Authorities and Tourism Boards
The Harris County Houston Sports Authority hired Patti Smith to work in public relations and video production and develop new initiatives for the agency. Smith was a reporter/producer for Fox Sports Southwest.

Technology
Blue Star Sports hired Steven Klohn as chief technology officer, Derrick Carpenter as chief product officer and David DiPasquale as chief revenue officer.

Tennis
Tommy Haas was named tournament director for the BNP Paribas Open.

Other

BIAGINI
European executive search firm Nolan Partners hired Chad Biagini as managing director of its new North American practice. Biagini established and led the sports executive search practice at Harvard Group International.

WWE hired Julia Jensen as vice president of brand. Jensen was vice president of global brands communications for Mattel.

The International Drone Racing Association hired Jeff LaClaire as executive vice president of sales and marketing. LaClaire founded retail marketing company LaClaire & Co.

DE RHAM
The International Equestrian Federation restructured its sports departments, naming Bettina de Rham director of dressage and para-equestrian dressage in addition to her current vaulting and reining disciplines, and will add driving to Manuel Bandeira de Mello, who will also continue in his role as director of endurance. Carina Mayer, senior manager and acting head of the dressage and para-equestrian dressage, will leave that role at September to be secretary general of the European Equestrian Federation.

Leaders Performance Institute named James Emmett editorial director. Emmett was editorial director for SportsPro Media.

Turnkey Intelligence hired Matt Petersen as vice president of sponsorship measurement and Rob Grobmyer as manager of research.

Awards and Boards
The Los Angeles Sports Council named Renata Simril, LA84 Foundation chief executive officer, and Virginia Grebbien, Parsons Corp. chief of staff, to its board of directors. Board member Tony Sciarrino was named a vice chair.

The National Athletic Trainers’ Association named Marisa Brunett, Nirvana Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services director of outpatient and community service, and Chris Hall, Ben Hogan Sports Medicine athletic trainer and manager of business services, to its board of directors.
