In The Office: Billy Casper Golf / Buffalo BIG

The new 19,000-square-foot space features an open floor plan, adjustable desks and glass-front offices.

Billy Casper Golf and its Buffalo Brand Invigoration Group division last summer moved into a 19,000-square-foot office in Reston, Va., that pays homage to its company namesake, Billy Casper, by featuring some of his personal memorabilia.

But it’s not just about the past for Billy Casper Golf. The company’s office features a modern, open floor plan for its 100 employees along with adjustable standing desks. It also has a golf simulator and a putting green. Then there’s the grill room complete with beer taps.

“We came from an office that was about 12,000 square feet with 33 closed-door offices, and now we have just opened everything up,” said Billy Casper Golf President Alex Elmore. “The open lunch area is great because it gives me an opportunity to talk to the troops, and the swing simulator is a lot of fun when you need to hit some balls and take a brain break.”

The office also is full of whiteboard areas to foster creativity among the staff.

“People can draw on the walls and brainstorm anywhere,” Elmore said. “It’s like my kids with chalkboard paint in the garage.”
