Jones back at Under Armour after stint with CAA Sports

Walker Jones has left CAA Sports, where he worked on the agency’s coaching business, to return to Under Armour.
Jones spent six years with the shoe and apparel company from 2008 to 2014, but left to join Jimmy Sexton’s team of agents at CAA Sports in Memphis.

JONES
Over the past two years, Jones has worked with Adam Gase, the Miami Dolphins’ new coach; Mike Norvell, who was recently hired as head football coach at the University of Memphis; and D.J. Durkin, Maryland’s new football coach.

Jones said he went back to Under Armour within the last two weeks to work on global marketing across college sports, football, baseball, golf and lacrosse. He is relocating back to Baltimore, where Under Armour is based.

“It was a nice run at CAA with a lot of good wins,” Jones said. “It was just a good opportunity to return to a place where I have a lot of good memories.”

The former University of Mississippi football player played an influential role in building Under Armour’s college business during his first stint with the company, growing the portfolio of schools to 13 by the time he left, including Notre Dame, Auburn, South Carolina and Maryland.

Jones returns as senior director for global sports marketing and business development. He’ll report to Ryan Kuehl, vice president of global sports marketing. Jones will work with Nick Carparelli, also a senior director, on the college business, along with Suzanne Williams, director of college sports.
