Barrett has carved a successful niche as an owner’s representative by protecting the interests of municipalities funding the construction of arenas and stadiums. His firm plays a critical role considering the mounting pressure cities face for supplying public money for private sports enterprises. Barrett is lead negotiator for the city of Sacramento connected to Golden 1 Center, the Kings’ new arena opening in October. In Milwaukee, he fills the same role for the Wisconsin Center District, the governing body tied to the Bucks’ $500 million arena project. Separately, Barrett Sports Group is working for the city of Phoenix as the Suns explore replacing 24-year-old Talking Stick Resort Arena. And in San Diego, BSG represents the city and county in their renewed effort to build a new NFL stadium to keep the Chargers in town.
