Holtz sits down with former player Bevacqua

Scully honored in L.A.

Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully, embarking on his 67th and final season broadcasting Dodgers games, received the Los Angeles Sports Council’s first Lifetime Achievement Award during the 11th annual LA Sports Awards on Feb. 25 at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Former Dodgers President Peter O’Malley presented the award.

Supporting youth tennis

The USTA Foundation’s third annual fundraising reception held March 7 at the Essex House in New York City raised more than $150,000 to support the funding of scholarships and programming grants for youth tennis and education programs around the country: tennis pros Stan Wawrinka and Serena Williams, Thomas Chen and Dan Faber of the USTA Foundation, and tennis pros Caroline Wozniacki and Gael Monfils.
