The San Diego Padres hired former MLB pitcher Hideo Nomo as an adviser for baseball operations. Nomo will assist the organization’s efforts in Asia.

The Oakland Athletics hired Catherine Aker as director of corporate communications and promoted Mark Bashuk to director of database services, Zak Basch to media relations manager, Warren Chu to senior manager of broadcast services, Brian DiTucci to senior director of ticket sales, Randy Duran to senior manager of stadium services, David Frieberg to senior manager of IT, Melissa Guzman to senior coordinator of community relations, Nathan Hayes to senior director of IT, Carolyn Jones to executive assistant to president and ownership, Kim Kubo to senior director of human resources, Danny Roach to manager of database services, Evan Twomey to corporate partnerships coordinator, and Gordon Wilson to senior account executive.

Colleges
Bradley University hired Joe Whitson as associate athletic director for athletic training services.

Facilities
Named to the executive management team for T-Mobile Arena, the new Las Vegas arena that’s a joint venture between AEG and MGM Resorts International: Mark Prows, MGM Resorts International senior vice president of entertainment operations; Mark Faber, AEG senor vice president of global partnerships; Dan Quinn, MGM Resorts International vice president and general manager of T-Mobile Arena; Jay Cline, MGM Resorts International executive director of event production for T-Mobile Arena; Raul Gutierrez, MGM Resorts International executive director of arena operations for T-Mobile Arena; Sid Greenfeig, MGM Resorts International vice president of arena booking; Gina Rotolo, MGM Resorts International director of entertainment marketing and communications; and Jeff Bueme, MGM Resorts International director of entertainment finance and administration.

The New York Giants hired Martin Mayhew as director of football operations and special projects. Mayhew was general manager for the Detroit Lions.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired John Spytek as director of player personnel. Spytek was a national scout for the Denver Broncos.

The PowerShares QQQ Championship, a Champions Tour event, named Alex Mallen sales manager.

The Columbus Blue Jackets hired Alexa Edwards and Emily Auker as inside sales representatives.

The Aspire Group for its Georgia Tech property promoted Austin Lavergne to team leader of new sales and hired Allyson Bradshaw as a new sales consultant.

Learfield named Justin Barnes general manager at the University of Montana.

Professional Sports Partners hired Hannah Munsey as senior manager of activation and development, Kristin Putnam as activation manager, and Susan Newquest to lead media relations.

Media
Bigballs Media hired James Kirkham to shape its pan-European business and head the Copa90 YouTube channel. Kirkham was global head of social and mobile for Leo Burnett.

Red Zebra Broadcasting hired Chris Johnson as program director for ESPN Radio 980 DC.

Soccer
AMB Group named Elena Cizmaric to lead communications for 2017 MLS expansion club Atlanta United FC.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
Converse Chief Marketing Officer Geoff Cottril resigned from company.

Other
Vivature Sports hired veteran college athletic administrators Jim Livengood and Joe Giansante. Livengood, who was an athletic director at UNLV, Arizona and Washington State, will focus on working with the power five schools.Giansante, who worked in senior associate athletic director positions at Syracuse and Oregon, will work as senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

TicketManager hired Troy Tutt as executive vice president of sales and revenue.

Awards and Boards
The Allstate Sugar Bowl Committee named G. Charles Lapeyre president for 2016-17.

Troy Brown, vice president of stadium operations for the Cleveland Browns, was re-elected for a three-year term as a stadium manager director for the Stadium Managers Association board of directors. The following executives were elected to serve one-year terms as officers on the SMA board: Mark Burk, Rice-Eccles Stadium director, president; Tony Pereira, Safeco Field senior director of ballpark operations, vice president; and Brown, secretary/treasurer.
