Stacey Allaster at the WTA

January 2006: Allaster hired as WTA president after 15 years at Tennis Canada.

July 2009: Allaster named WTA chair and CEO, succeeding Larry Scott.

2012: Sony Ericsson departs as the WTA’s lead sponsor. No company has since been signed to fill the title sponsor role Sony Ericsson previously had.

2012: Allaster acknowledges the issue of player grunting becoming a concern among fans. Continued examination leads Allaster in September 2015 to say a recommendation will be forthcoming from the tour to address the issue, including possibly adding an audible measuring device courtside.

2013: WTA signs a five-year deal with Singapore to host the season-ending WTA Championships from 2014 through 2018. The deal is expected to bring the tour more than $75 million through its term.

2013: Allaster earns more than $1.4 million in salary for the year. It’s seen as likely the first time the WTA’s leader has earned more than any other executive in tennis.

2014: WTA signs a 10-year, $525 million media deal with London-based Perform that gives the company live international media rights to the circuit’s 54 tournaments.

Sept. 22, 2015: Allaster announces her resignation, effective Oct. 2.
