Baseball
The MLB Players Association hired former major league player Kevin Slowey as a special assistant for bargaining.

Colleges

HOUSTON
Colgate University hired Taurian Houston as assistant athletic director for compliance. Houston was a compliance specialist at Dartmouth College.

Fairleigh Dickinson promoted Jennifer Quirk to associate athletic director for compliance and academics.

Eastern Kentucky University named Matt Roan deputy athletic director. Roan was the university’s special assistant to the president.

The U.S. Naval Academy promoted Jim Berry and Dee Jones to assistant athletic directors for sports medicine and hired Adam Pecina as associate athletic director for sports medicine.

The University of South Florida hired Tim Anderson as associate athletic director for academics. Anderson was associate director of academic and student services and director of football support services at UCLA.

Utah State University hired John Hartwell as vice president and athletic director. Hartwell was athletic director at Troy University.

Butler University hired John Dedman as associate athletic director for communication. Dedman was vice president of communications for Indiana Sports Corp.

Xavier University promoted Brett Sanders to assistant athletic director for ticket sales and Patrick Dillon to director of marketing.

Ithaca College promoted Michelle Manning to associate athletic director for finance and administration.

Facilities
Shawmut Design and Construction named Eric Geisler director of sports venues.

ROUBINEK
Arshot Investment Corp. named Brett Roubinek president of Sports Pavilion and Automotive Research Center. Roubinek was senior director of strategy and consultancy for JMI.

Hockey
The Arizona Coyotes promoted Chris O’Hearn to assistant general manager for hockey operations, and hired John Chayka as assistant general manager for analytics. Darcy Regier, team senior vice president and assistant general manager, will also serve as general manager for the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons.

The Toronto Maple Leafs hired Jeremy Bettle as director of sports science and performance. Bettle was strength and conditioning coach and director of nutrition for the Brooklyn Nets.

Horse Racing
The National Thoroughbred Racing Association named Jeff Burch senior vice president for NTRA Advantage, the organization’s group purchasing arm. Burch was vice president of advertising for the Daily Racing Form.

Tandem Sports & Entertainment hired Katherine O’Toole as public relations coordinator and Cary Grossart as marketing coordinator.

Intersport hired Michael Ziegler as executive vice president of sales and business development. Ziegler was head of North American sales for InMobi.

IRG Sports & Entertainment hired Lou Partenza as chief financial officer. Partenza was executive vice president and chief financial officer for the Florida Panthers, Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and BB&T Center.

Home Team Sports hired Stacy Markham as an account executive. Markham was a regional media manager for MediaCom.

Turner Broadcasting promoted Sandy Padula to senior vice president of research for TBS and TNT.

USA Hockey promoted Ryan Hardy to director of player personnel for the National Team Development Program.

Epoch Lacrosse hired Chris Fleck as financial controller and Joe Vitale as an outside sales representative.
