Fox in market with playoff spots on RSNs

Fox Sports is in the market selling presenting sponsorships to the first round of the NBA and NHL playoffs on its regional sports networks.

Through its Home Team Sports subsidiary, which sells national advertising for most RSNs, the company is looking for a low-seven-figure deal for both leagues, with the NBA package commanding a higher price tag. One brand will carry the presenting sponsorship across all the first-round games across the U.S. RSNs that HTS counts as clients.

Last year, Intel bought a presenting sponsorship around the first round of the NHL playoffs on the HTS RSNs, the first time HTS has made such a position available. This year, it is expanding into the NBA for the first time, as well.

“We’re out there with our presentations right now,” said Craig Sloan, HTS senior vice president of national advertising sales.

The sponsorships will include a lot of integration into the telecasts, many of which will run side-by-side with national telecasts on ESPN and TNT. Sloan said sponsors will have on-screen signage and in-game features.
