We asked readers in our inaugural 2005 survey to highlight which teams were in the biggest need of a new stadium. Of those selected in the NFL, the Jets, Cardinals, Vikings and 49ers have since built a new venue or started construction on one. The Saints have completed a major renovation.

In MLB, the Mets, Marlins, Nationals, Twins and Rays were selected, and all but the Rays have since moved into new homes.

In the NBA, the Nets, Hornets (now Pelicans), Knicks and Warriors were highlighted. The Nets are now in Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center, the Knicks play in a newly renovated Madison Square Garden, the Pelicans renovated their arena, and the Warriors are planning construction of a new arena.
