People: Executive transactions

Baseball
The Baltimore Orioles named Amy Tuten manager of sponsorship sales, Kirsten Ladendorf manager of catering and suites, and Scott Moudry manager of ticket operations, and promoted Trevor Markham to director of operations, all for their Sarasota spring training site.

Baseball America Executive Editor Jim Callis stepped down from the position. Callis will cover prospects and the draft for MLB.com.

The Cincinnati Reds promoted Mark Schueler to senior director of ticket sales and service, Sarah Contardo to senior director of ticket marketing and development, Chris Bausano to director of premium sales and service, Patrick Montague to senior manager of season and inside sales, Shannon Senger to senior manager of group sales, Kristen Meyers to strategic partnership manager, Jodi Czanik to premium services manager, and Carmen Alberini to premium sales executive.

The Class A California League’s High Desert Mavericks named Ryan Cook general manager. Cook was an agent for the Sports Syndicate.

Basketball
The NBA D-League’s Delaware 87ers hired Brandon Williams as general manager.

The Golden State Warriors named Kenny Lauer to the newly created position of vice president of digital and marketing. Lauer was vice president of digital experience at experiential marketing agency George P. Johnson.

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx promoted Ryan Tanke to senior vice president and chief revenue officer and Brett Kahnke to vice president of analytics and technology, and hired Corey Breton as vice president of sales and service. Breton was senior director of sales for the Atlanta Hawks. The Timberwolves also hired Milt Newton as general manager. Newton was vice president of player personnel for the Washington Wizards.

The Sacramento Kings named Shareef Abdur-Rahim general manager and Chris Gilbert assistant general manager, both for the NBA D-League’s Reno Bighorns. Abdur-Rahim is director of player personnel and Gilbert basketball operations coordinator for the Kings. The Kings also named Chris Mullin adviser to the chairman.

The San Antonio Spurs named Dave Telep NBA draft scouting coordinator. Telep was an ESPN recruiting analyst.

The WNBA’s Atlanta Dream hired Alton Byrd as chief revenue officer. Byrd was chief executive officer of Clear Focus Marketing.

The Los Angeles Clippers promoted Seth Burton to vice president of communications, Dennis Rogers to director of communications and digital media, and Ta’Nisha Cooper and Steven Esparza to assistant directors of communications, and named Aubrey Freckman communications assistant and Eric Patten digital media manager and communications coordinator.

The Chicago Bulls promoted Randy Brown to assistant general manager and Ivica Dukan to director of international scouting and special assistant to the general manager.

The Washington Wizards promoted Tommy Sheppard to senior vice president of basketball operations, Ed Tapscott to vice president of player programs, Brett Greenberg to director of basketball analytics and salary cap management, Bryan Oringher to video coordinator and Ryan Richman to assistant video coordinator. The Wizards named Marc Eversley vice president of scouting, Frank Ross director of player personnel, Greg Ballard advance pro scout and Thomas Knox director of player performance and rehabilitation.

The NBA D-League’s Los Angeles D-Fenders promoted Glenn Carraro to vice president of basketball operations and named Nick Mazzella general manager. Carraro will continue in his role as assistant general manager of the Los Angeles Lakers. Mazzella was public relations coordinator for the Lakers.

Colleges
Princeton University Athletic Director Gary Walters will step down from the position at the end of the 2013-14 academic year.

The Horizon League hired Brett Williams as assistant director of communications.

Marist College promoted Travis Tellitocci to senior associate athletic director for internal affairs.

Northeastern University named Regina Sullivan executive senior associate athletic director and senior woman administrator. Sullivan was senior associate athletic director at the University of Minnesota.

Rice University named Joe Karlgaard athletic, recreation and lifetime fitness director.

University of Maine Athletic Director Steve Abbott stepped down from the position.

The University of Massachusetts Boston named Tracey Hathaway compliance officer and assistant academic adviser. Hathaway was senior woman administrator and assistant athletic director at Concordia University Texas.

The University of Michigan named Pete Skorich to the newly created position of senior associate athletic director for communications, broadcast, multimedia and creative services. Skorich was executive vice president and chief communications and content officer for the Detroit Pistons.

The University of Tennessee promoted Jimmy Stanton to senior associate athletic director for communications.

The Virginia Military Institute named Dave Diles athletic director. Diles was athletic director at Case Western Reserve University.

The College Sports Information Directors of America named Doug Vance executive director. Vance was executive director of the Kansas Recreation and Park Association.

Northern Illinois University named Ryan Sedevie associate athletic director for collegiate advancement and external affairs. Sedevie was athletic director of development for the University of Wisconsin.

Shaw University promoted Marcus Clarke to athletic director.

The University of Alaska Anchorage hired Keith Hackett as athletic director. Hackett was senior associate athletic director for internal affairs at the University of Nevada.

The University of Arkansas Little Rock named Leah Thorvilson director of development for athletics.

The University of Maryland named David Klossner associate athletic director for sports performance. Klossner was director of the NCAA Sport Science Institute.

The West Coast Conference promoted Lynn Holzman to executive senior associate commissioner and chief operating officer, Mia Brickhouse, Jeff Tourial and Sarah Wilhelmi to associate commissioners, Stefanie Ordoveza to assistant commissioner and Moni Graf to director. The WCC also hired Isabelle Ignacio as executive assistant and office manager.

Facilities
Canterbury Park named Eric Halstrom vice president of operations, effective Oct. 21.

Iowa Speedway Chief Executive Officer Doug Fritz resigned.

SMG promoted Gregg Caren to executive vice president of convention and exhibition centers, Doug Thornton to executive vice president of stadiums and arenas, Harry Cann and Joe Romano to senior vice presidents of stadiums and arenas, and Gary McAneney to senior vice president of finance.

Citi Private Bank named William Giles managing director and Steve Beverage director. Giles was senior vice president, family wealth adviser and director and Beverage was vice president, both at Abbot Downing.

The Kansas City Chiefs named Tyler Epp vice president of business development. Epp was senior vice president of development for the San Diego Padres.

The Canadian Football League named Jim Lawson chairman of its board of governors.

Law
Kelley Drye & Warren named Adisa Bakari chairman and Jeffery Whitney vice chairman of the newly formed sports entertainment group. Bakari and Whitney were partners at Dow Lohnes.

Pac-12 Networks promoted Dustin Rocke to vice president of programming and development, Ky Bell to vice president of programming and operations, Brenna Webb to director of communications, Jae Clavelle to talent and development manager, Mia Herman to sales planner and Bryan Van Meter to senior sales planner, and hired Karen Cartales as vice president of marketing.

Twitter named Dave Pattillo head of East Coast sales, effective in October. Pattillo was vice president of media sales for NFL Media.

NASCAR promoted Nate Siebens to senior manager of International Motor Sports Association communications and named David Hart director of IMSA communications.

Olympics
International Olympic Committee Marketing Commission Chair Gerhard Heiberg stepped down from the position, effective at the end of the year.

Soccer
New York City FC named Tim Pernetti chief business officer. Pernetti was athletic director at Rutgers University.

Sporting Goods and Apparel
Imperial Headwear named David Shaffer director of marketing. Shaffer will continue to lead the Greg Norman licensed headwear and belt business for Imperial parent company Paramount Apparel.

Wolverine Worldwide named Gene McCarthy president of its Merrell division. McCarthy was senior vice president of footwear for Under Armour.

Majestic Athletic named Todd Bradney national sales manager for team business.

REI named Jerry Stritzke president and chief operating officer. Stritzke was president and chief operating officer for Coach.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop named Robert Sommer senior adviser. Sommer was executive vice president of community and public relations for Devils Arena Entertainment.

Mather Economics named Kent Schacht digital services director and Chris Christian vice president. Schacht was director of ESPN Insider, and Christian was vice president of audience and marketing for The Kansas City Star.

Skullcandy named Heidi O’Neill to its board of directors. O’Neill is vice president and general manger of women’s training and fitness at Nike.

The Vanderbilt Hall of Fame inducted ESPN basketball analyst Carolyn Peck.

The Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association in South Carolina awarded Employee of the Year to Lisa Dahlstrom. Dahlstrom is director of sales and marketing for the Heritage Golf Collection.

The 2015 Pan Am Games organizing committee named former Ontario Premier David Peterson chairman.

SiriusXM named Anthony Bates and George Bodenheimer to its board of directors. Bates is executive vice president of business development and evangelism at Microsoft, and Bodenheimer is executive chairman of ESPN.

Legendary Entertainment named Boston Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner to its board of directors.

Major League Gaming named Daryl Morey to its board of directors. Morey is the general manager of the Houston Rockets.

USA Synchro elected Nancy Rosengard vice president of membership and marketing on its board of directors.
