BUFFALO
Bills partner with Unyts

The Buffalo Bills agreed to a partnership with organ procurement organization Unyts. The group will hold four donation events in conjunction with the Bills. It also will be a game-week sponsor for a regular-season game in 2013 and will receive various team advertising, promotional and hospitality assets.

CLEVELAND
Browns triplecast coming this season

The Cleveland Browns reached a long-term partnership with local all-sports stations 92.3 The Fan (WKRK-FM/CBS Radio) and ESPN 850 WKNR to broadcast the team’s games. CBS Radio’s WNCX-FM (98.5) also will carry live game action beginning this year.

KANSAS CITY
Royals retailer opening new stores

Academy Sports + Outdoors will open stores this summer in Overland Park, Kan., and Olathe, Kan., bringing about 300 new jobs to the area. Academy is the official sporting goods retailer of the Kansas City Royals.

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL
Great Clips names seating section

The Minnesota Twins signed a three-year deal with Great Clips for naming rights to a new group seating section at Target Field. The 200-seat Great Clips Great Seats area replaces bleacher seats with seven rows of drink rails with stools. Tickets range from $28 to $42 per game and include $10 in stored value to use for concessions. Great Clips has been a Twins partner the past three years.

NEW YORK
StubHub files against Yankees’ effort

StubHub filed a memorandum of law in Bronx County Supreme Court outlining its opposition to the New York Yankees’ legal efforts to keep closed a StubHub pickup location near Yankee Stadium. StubHub said in its filing the Yankees have “at best … a fundamental misunderstanding of the limited drop-off and pick-up services that will be available at the … location.” A hearing on the club’s proposed injunction is slated for April 16.

New Flyers statue debuts
Comcast-Spectacor unveiled a bronze statue that commemorates one of the iconic moments of Philadelphia Flyers history. The 7-foot-tall statue at the Xfinity Live! complex depicts Flyers team captain Bobby Clarke and goaltender Bernie Parent hoisting the Stanley Cup. Fans voted to name the statue Walking Together Forever, a reference to a message Flyers head coach Fred Shero wrote on a blackboard in the team’s locker room before the final game of the 1974 playoffs.

PHOENIX
Cardinals looking for new camp

Northern Arizona University nixed efforts to keep the Arizona Cardinals’ preseason camp on the Flagstaff, Ariz., campus, according to an Arizona Republic report. The team had conducted camp at NAU nearly every year since the franchise arrived in Arizona 25 years ago. The Cardinals are negotiating with Glendale, Ariz., officials to relocate their training camp to near University of Phoenix Stadium, according to the report.

D-backs get 50/50 support
Western Refining signed on as a supporter of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 50/50 Raffle. The team’s raffle program last year raised more than $1 million in its first full season. The newly named D-backs 50/50 Raffle supported by Western Refining will be available at every D-backs home game this year. Western Refining is an independent refining and marketing company headquartered in El Paso, Texas.

PITTSBURGH
Brewer naming ballpark HOF club

The Pittsburgh Pirates renewed a sponsorship agreement with Rivertowne Brewing Co., with Rivertowne gaining naming rights to the PNC Park Hall of Fame Club. The partnership between the club and the local brewing company began in 2009.

SACRAMENTO
Supercuts on board with USL effort

Sacramento Professional Soccer, the group that purchased franchise rights for a United Soccer Leagues club last December, landed Supercuts as its first sponsor. Supercuts will be the lead partner for a name-the-team contest and will sponsor exhibition matches, in-store promotions and various events. The team is scheduled to play its inaugural season next year.

SAN FRANCISCO

CSN sponsors Giants giveaway
Comcast SportsNet Bay Area will sponsor the San Francisco Giants’ World Champions Parade Snow Globe giveaway at the team’s game against Colorado on Tuesday. The first 20,000 fans will receive a confetti-filled globe replicating the team’s 2012 World Series parade and City Hall celebration.

SARASOTA, FLA.
Ubersense tees off with tour

Ubersense, the official mobile golf app of the 2013 Symetra Tour, began activation of its tour partnership at last month’s Florida’s Natural Charity Classic in Winter Haven, Fla. Users of the app can record and upload video to analyze through slow motion, side-by-side and overlay comparison to professional videos, and telestration.

SSE signs fitness partner

Orangetheory Fitness signed with Sunrise Sports & Entertainment as an official marketing partner of the Florida Panthers, the BB&T Center and the Saveology.com Iceplex. The partnership features in-arena digital signage and tabling at BB&T Center and Saveology.com Iceplex events.

TAMPA-ST. PETERSBURG

Burst Pass returning this season
The Tampa Bay Rays, in partnership with Fortress US, expanded their Burst Pass program for the 2013 season. Burst Pass is a stored-value card that serves as a season-ticket-holder ID card and provides season-ticket holders with a 12 percent cash bonus for every dollar loaded. New this year is the ability for fans to use the card to make purchases at any food or retail stand at the ballpark.

CHELTENHAM, ENGLAND
Jockey Club lays out track plan
Plans for a $68 million redevelopment of the Cheltenham Racecourse were revealed by the Jockey Club, according to a BBC report. The proposed development would create a new grandstand in place of the current one, which was built in the 1920s. The Jockey Club, which owns the track, has invested $121 million in facilities at Cheltenham over the past 30 years, according to the report.

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND
SPL club extends with kit sponsor
Scottish Premier League club Heart of Midlothian extended its shirt sponsorship deal with British loan company Wonga through the 2013-14 season. Wonga has been the club’s shirt sponsor since 2011.

Visitors are allowed inside the area for the first time since the 2012 Games.

Olympic Park opening to public
The Olympic Park, off limits to the public since the end of the London 2012 Games, is reopening for short visits, according to a BBC report. So far, 20,000 tickets have been sold to people wanting to see the site in Stratford, east London.

KRAKOW, POLAND
Countries form joint bid for Games
Poland and Slovakia backed a joint bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, hoping to win the first Games for the two central European countries, according to a Reuters report. The countries’ prime ministers announced the bid effort.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND
Man City eyes global expansion
Manchester City is exploring destinations around the world for additional coaching centers and kids camps, according to a Manchester Evening News report. The club already runs coaching centers in Miami and Los Angeles, among other locations.
