Open Series unites ticket on-sale dates

The nine tennis tournaments that make up the Emirates Airline U.S. Open Series will put their tickets up for sale at the same time this year, March 5, the day after a slate of exhibition events.
It marks the first time the series events are coordinating their ticket sales. The sales will occur through emiratesusopenseries.com. The events occur in July and August, leading up to the U.S. Open.
The U.S. Tennis Association, which helps coordinate and promote the events, wanted to take advantage of Tennis Night in America, grassroots promotions tied to a featured exhibition event. That exhibition is set for March 4, at Madison Square Garden in New York, with a scheduled undercard of Serena Williams versus Victoria Azarenka, followed by Rafael Nadal against Juan Martin del Potro.
StarGames, the company that stages the U.S. exhibition, is also putting on an event the same day in Hong Kong.
