The whole world is watching
London and the Olympics right now,
and Scott Blackmun is no exception.
When the Olympic flame isn’t
blazing, though, Blackmun can look
across to the mountains outside
Colorado Springs, Colo., from his
office at the U.S. Olympic Committee’s
headquarters downtown.
Blackmun, the USOC’s CEO since early 2010, displays a collection of keepsakes around him that reflects the multisport mission of his organization, although soccer might be a candidate for first among equals: Blackmun played in college at Dartmouth, and AEG owned several MLS teams when he was chief operating officer there in the mid-2000s.
