The National Basketball Retired Players Association hired Mark Scoggins as chief revenue officer and Charece Williams as senior director of external relations and programming.

The New York Knicks named Larry Johnson basketball and business operations representative.

Colleges
Earlham College hired Mike Bergum as athletic director, effective June 1. Bergum was athletic director at New Castle High School in New Castle, Ind.

Alan Verlander was named executive director of sports and entertainment for the city of Jacksonville. Verlander was athletic director at Jacksonville University.

Trinity College hired JoAnn Acquarulo as assistant athletic director.

The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth named women’s basketball coach Amanda Van Voorhis associate athletic director and senior women’s administrator.

Brown University hired Jack Hayes as athletic director, effective July 1. Hayes was athletic director at Hofstra University.

Facilities
Phoenix International Raceway hired Chris Reaves and Matt Lowney as corporate sales managers. Reaves was a group sales account executive for the Phoenix Coyotes, and Lowney was director of business development at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.

Marketing

Zinberg
Wasserman Media Group hired Andrew Zinberg as vice president of athlete marketing for its golf division. Zinberg was senior director of sales for Van Wagner Sports.

ANC Sports Enterprises hired Jess Scioli as an account coordinator in its client service division and Kim Louis as motion graphics designer.

Buffalo Communications promoted David Griffith to public relations director.

Keystone Marketing hired Stacie Brenner as director of business development.

Nelson
Strategic hired Brian Miesieski as a vice president and group account director and Darby Ashling Nelson as marketing coordinator.

Media
USA Today named Mary Byrne managing editor of sports. Byrne was deputy sports editor for The Associated Press.

XOS Digital promoted Mark Hudgins to executive vice president of finance and administration and Anna Neri to vice president of marketing and affiliate networks.

Motorsports
Chip Ganassi Racing hired Christian Cingolani as director of business development. Cingolani was vice president of partnership development for JMI.

Multiteam Companies
Ilitch Holdings hired Brian Beaufait as director for its Little Caesars Amateur Sports program. Beaufait was a senior account executive for Janssen Biotech, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.

Christie
Madison Square Garden Co. named Kevin Christie senior vice president of business development for MSG Sports. Christie was a director in the media and telecom group in the investment banking division for Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Soccer
The Vancouver Whitecaps named John Furlong executive chairman. Furlong was chief executive officer for the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Other
The All England Lawn Tennis Club named Richard Lewis chief executive officer. Lewis was chairman for the Rugby Football League and chair of Sport England.

Michael Johnson Performance hired Robert Jenkins as director of sales and marketing.

Dwyer
The National Alliance for Youth Sports hired Ryan Dwyer as national Hook a Kid on Golf program coordinator. Dwyer was an admissions counselor and head men’s lacrosse coach at Ripon College.

ProCamps Worldwide hired Adam Ross as president. Ross was sales director for Procter & Gamble’s North American shave and health care businesses.
