Siena offers in-seat ordering
Siena College athletics has partnered with Bypass Lane to offer in-seat concessions ordering at Times Union Center. The service is being offered at all Siena men’s basketball games this season. Bypass Lane, launched in July 2010, has mobile ordering systems in MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and NCAA venues.
Angels’ ticket demand soars
The Los Angeles Angels sold about 1,000 season-ticket packages and had taken more than 500 online orders for season-ticket packages the day after the signings of Albert Pujols and C.J. Wilson, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
Orioles, Sportservice plan 20 prizes
To celebrate 20 years of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, the Baltimore Orioles and Delaware North Sportservice are giving away 20 prizes in 20 days in January to fans who purchase or renew season-ticket plans by Jan. 19. Prizes include free season tickets, autographed memorabilia, gift cards and free parking. The ballpark opened in 1992.
The Buffalo Bandits will play host to the 2012 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game on Feb. 25, and the logo for the game was recently unveiled. The game will mark the first all-star game in any sport to be played at First Niagara Center, which opened in 1996.
Bills’ ATV improves game-day response
The Buffalo Bills and Orchard Park Fire District teamed up to purchase an all-terrain, all-weather emergency vehicle to enhance the team’s game-day emergency response. The six-passenger ATV allows fire/rescue and EMS personnel quicker access to remote parking areas and inaccessible terrain surrounding Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Bears partner with Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless entered into a long-term agreement to be the official wireless service provider of the Chicago Bears. A new Bears smartphone app provides video, a game center, in-depth information on players, stadium information, updates on team activities and merchandise.
Jackets extend TV deal
The Columbus Blue Jackets and Fox Sports Ohio extended their broadcast partnership. Fox Sports Ohio has been the exclusive television partner of the Blue Jackets since the club’s inaugural 2000-01 season and is airing 79 Blue Jackets games in high definition this season.
Cycling event names 12 host cities
After drawing more than 1 million fans in its inaugural year, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge will return in 2012 with several new locations. The race will visit 12 Colorado host cities over the course of its seven days, Aug. 20-26. The host cities and stages are Durango, Telluride, Montrose, Crested Butte/Mount Crested Butte, Gunnison, Aspen, Beaver Creek/Vail Valley, Breckenridge, Colorado Springs, Golden, Boulder and Denver.
Rockies extend airline deal
Frontier Airlines extended its sponsorship deal with the Colorado Rockies for another four years. The deal, last renewed in 2006, now extends through 2015. Under the agreement, Frontier is the official airline of the club.

The New England Revolution debuted its jersey for the 2012 MLS season in conjunction with Adidas and jersey sponsor UnitedHealthcare at a special event at the Gillette Stadium ProShop with team executives, players, season-ticket holders and corporate partners. The team sold out the first shipment of the jerseys in 10 days.
Rockets sign logistics partner
GAC, global provider of shipping, logistics and marine services, will sponsor the Houston Rockets as the team’s official logistics partner. This is GAC’s first sponsorship in basketball, and its first with a U.S.-based sports property.
New partners for KFC Yum! Center
Louisville Arena Sports and Entertainment Properties added six partners for the KFC Yum! Center: Equipment Depot, Mercantile Lofts, Ken Towery Tire and Autocare, WHAS-TV 11, Clear Channel Communications, and G&K Services.
Paciolan, Memphis extend partnership
The University of Memphis is continuing its partnership with Paciolan, a partnership dating to 1983. Memphis’ online payment plans program through Paciolan lets season-ticket holders space out payments for season tickets.
Target Field concert sells out fast
Tickets for the first concert at Target Field are sold out. More than 39,000 tickets were sold in about four hours on Dec. 10 for Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw’s “Brothers of the Sun” tour stop on July 8 despite a technical problem in the ticketing system that impeded purchases for some fans.

Gary Perone, director of new business development for the Brooklyn Cyclones, was awarded Minor League Baseball’s Presidential Citation for his commitment to diversity within MiLB. Perone established relationships with schools and organizations and helped organize the diversity initiatives of “team up” and the Hideki Matsui international friendship program.
Nets celebrating New Jersey years
The New Jersey Nets launched a multimedia campaign to celebrate the team’s 35 years in New Jersey. A commemorative logo will be seen on the team’s uniforms this season, on the home court at Prudential Center, on merchandise and on fan giveaways.
Kaiser Permanente signs presenting deal
The Golden State Warriors struck their first season presenting sponsorship deal with Kaiser Permanente. The deal covers the upcoming season. Financial terms were not disclosed. Kaiser was a Warriors sponsor before upgrading its deal in becoming the team’s presenting season partner for this season.
Magic retains tequila brand
Familia Camarena Tequila will continue its sponsorship of the Orlando Magic for a second season. Terms of the deal include in-arena brand exposure and in-game mentions on English- and Spanish-language radio broadcasts.
Students to produce NLL broadcasts
Burlington County College radio station WBZC-FM signed a deal to broadcast Philadelphia Wings games from the NLL club’s Wells Fargo Center home. The agreement will allow students to get a hands-on experience producing live broadcasts and working with a pro sports team.
Kings extend with radio partner
CBS Radio’s KHTK 1140-AM and the Sacramento Kings extended their broadcast partnership by another five years to carry all preseason, postseason and regular-season games. This year marks the 19th consecutive season that KHTK will serve as the team’s radio home.
Parking revenue pegged at up to $245M
The city of Sacramento estimates it should be able to get between $170 million and $245 million in up-front cash by leasing its parking business long-term to private operators. The money would be used to help pay for a downtown arena that would be the new home of the NBA Kings.
