  • Dave St. Peter, President, Minnesota Twins

Dave St. Peter, at just 43, has already seen a lifetime of highs and lows in his 21 years with the Twins. Having joined the club in 1990, the North Dakota native was present for the club’s dramatic World Series win a year later, a euphoric feeling all but erased in 2001 during the club’s dark days as a candidate for league contraction.

The fruits of a nearly 15-year fight for a new stadium are now on display right outside the window that forms the back wall of St. Peter’s office. The majestic view of Target Field shows not only the ballpark’s incorporation into the downtown Minneapolis landscape, but it also provides a glimpse of a playoff-contending team that has already boosted aggregate home attendance for the ninth time in 10 seasons.

    1. A miniature replica of the Twins’ 1991 World Series trophy along with two local Emmy awards. 2. An oversized baseball card of Twins favorite Rod Carew. 3. A close-up of the World Series trophy. 4. Another card featuring Kirby Puckett.

    5. A framed newspaper from the opening of Target Field. 6. A commemorative uniform patch on St. Peter’s desk. 7. A shovel from the 2007 groundbreaking for Target Field. 8. An Andy Warhol-style painting of Kent Hrbek, another of St. Peter’s favorite Twins.

An autographed hockey stick from the University of North Dakota team. St. Peter is from Bismarck, N.D., went to the University of North Dakota and is a big hockey fan. St. Peter has a nice view of the field from his office, and even his desk. The view from the deck adjacent to his office overlooks both Target Field and downtown Minneapolis.
A countdown clock that tracked the construction progress of Target Field. The clock reads zero now with the ballpark officially opening earlier this year. A baseball (left) signed by the youth team that St. Peter coaches in his spare time, one of his favorite items in the office; an early scale model of Target Field. St. Peter holds a copy of the Target Field coffee-table book (left); an I-35W patch remembering the 2007 bridge collapse that killed 13 people, which delayed the ballpark’s groundbreaking.
