The Seattle Mariners named Dr. Marcus Elliott director of sports science and performance. Elliott is the founder of Peak Performance Project.
St. Louis Cardinals Vice Chairman Fred Hanser left that role and was named director. Mike Whittle was named general counsel.
The Washington Nationals named John Turnour head groundskeeper. Turnour was assistant groundskeeper for the San Diego Padres.
The Class A California League Bakersfield (Calif.) Blaze hired Justin Kozubal as general manager.
The Class AA Eastern League New Britain (Conn.) Rock Cats named Eric Fritz coordinator of stadium operations, Steve Given group sales manager and Brendan O’Donnell assistant director of ticket operations.
The Class AA Eastern League Reading (Pa.) Phillies named Aaron Gottlieb media relations assistant.
San Antonio Silver Stars coach Dan Hughes stepped down to become the team’s general manager.
The University of Texas-San Antonio named Jim Goodman associate athletic director for marketing.

The PGA Tour named Jay Monahan senior vice president of business development and Matt Rapp executive director of The Players Championship. Peter Kent, vice president of retail and championship management sales, will assume additional responsibilities as vice president of championship management business affairs.
The LPGA hired Kathryn Milthorpe as chief financial officer. Milthorpe was managing director of public affairs for International Speedway Corp.
