The Arizona Diamondbacks hired Mike Berger as director of player development, replacing A.J. Hinch who was named manager last month. Berger was a pro scout for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Charlotte Bobcats hired Todd Fleming as vice president of ticket sales and service.
IHoops, a youth basketball joint venture between the NBA and the NCAA, named Matt Bortz director of content media management, Neil Dougherty director of athlete and coach programs, Ronda Hite director of finance and administration, Greg Turner associate director of programs and Ronnie Zeidel vice president of marketing partnerships.
The WNBA Washington Mystics added the role of manager of basketball operations to assistant coach Vicky Bullett.
The University of Houston named Mack Rhoades athletic director, replacing Dave Haggard who retired. Rhoades was athletic director at the University of Akron.
The Muhammad Ali Center named John Ramsey vice president of marketing and governmental affairs. Ramsey was director of sales for the University of Louisville athletic department.
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America named Rhett Evans chief operating officer. Evans was director of the parks, recreation, and commercial facilities division for Mesa, Ariz.
Just Marketing International named Patrick Culleiton human resources manager and Leslie Thompson an account manager.
ProConcept Marketing Group hired former NFL player Ray Buchanan as vice president of talent relations.
Kyle Caddell, former Carolina Panthers director of sponsor sales and services, started his own firm, Synergy 5, which consults with MLB, NFL and NHL franchises.
Learfield Sports promoted Justin Barnes to general manager of Black Bear Sports Properties at the University of Maine, replacing Mike McCollum, who was promoted to general manager of Army Sports Properties. Josh Moore was hired as a sales analyst in the company’s Dallas office. Moore was a market analyst for The Bonham Group.
Olympstroi Corp. named Taimuraz Bolloyev construction chief for the 2014 Winter Olympics, replacing Viktor Kolodyazhny who stepped down.
FIFA named Chuck Blazer chair of the World Cup organizing committee. Blazer is general secretary for CONCACAF.

Callaway Golf Canada named Preben Ganzhorn director of marketing. Ganzhorn was director of marketing and oversaw North American marketing and promotional initiatives for Carlsberg Group.
The Adidas Group named Roland Auschel chief sales officer and Michael Stanier chief retail officer.
Icebreaker promoted Rob Achten to vice president of product and creative director.
Nike promoted Gino Fisanotti to marketing director for the UK and Ireland and Simon Pestridge to global brand director of sportswear.
Vans-America named Kevin Bailey president.

Campbell Soup named William Perez to its board of directors. Perez was chief executive officer for Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. and former chief executive officer of Nike.
The Canadian Football League named John Butler chair of its board of governors.
The Environmental Institute for Golf named John Donnelly to its advisory council. Donnelly is vice president of golf media for Golf Channel.
The National Association of Sports Commissions named its 2009-10 board of directors: Jack Hughes, Gainesville Sports Commission, immediate past chair; Jon Schmieder, Phoenix Regional Sports Commission, chair; Regina Zara, Nassau County IDA, vice chair; Tara Green, North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee, treasurer; and Gary Alexander, Nashville Sports Council, secretary.
The Outback Bowl named Gwen Mitchell chairwoman of its board of directors. Mitchell is a partner for Deloitte.
The National Rifle Association named NASCAR team owner Richard Childress to its board of directors.
The National Sports Law Institute of Marquette University Law School presented Minneapolis attorney Clark Griffith its Joseph E. O’Neill Award.
Sportgenic named Robert Perkins to its board of directors. Perkins was senior vice president of marketing for Pizza Hut.
The U.S. Bid Committee named California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to its board of directors in its efforts to bring the FIFA World Cup to the U.S. in 2018 or 2022.
Cole Real Estate Investments named Scott Scherer vice president of sports and entertainment clientele. Scherer was vice president of sports and entertainment for retirement income and investments at Genworth Financial.
Tatum named Chris Kearney partner and practice leader in its Chicago office. Kearney is president of the National Football Foundation Chicago Metro Board and representative for the Capital One Bowl.
Ticketmaster promoted Marla Ostroff to executive vice president of national accounts.
US Lacrosse named Gregg Mitchell managing director for the US Lacrosse Foundation. Mitchell was vice president for philanthropy and marketing for the African Wildlife Foundation.
