From her 16th floor office at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street in New York City, WNBA President Donna Orender has views of Central Park to the north and of the west side of the city. She moved into the space when she took the position in February 2005.
The prevailing theme in the office is of her two families: her husband and 11-year-old twin boys, and WNBA teams and players. Photos of her sons line the windowsills and desk, and mementos, plaques, glassware, books, tributes and artifacts related to her work with the league are everywhere in the neat and organized space.
“It’s comfortable and representative of my experiences,” Orender said, “and provides good feedback of where we want to go and where we have been.”
