Sets and the Citi for SNY show

SportsNet New York signed Citi to a multiyear deal as a presenting sponsor for its nightly talk show, “Daily News Live.”

out a new look June 4.
The sponsorship is believed to be worth in the mid-six figures and will take effect June 4, coinciding with the rollout of a new set design and graphics package around the show.
“It really rounds out the look of our network,” said Steve Raab, president of the regional sports network, which is partly owned by the New York Mets. “This is the first show for us where we have sponsors occupying the title position and presenting position.”
The sponsorship by Citi, which owns naming rights to the Mets’ future ballpark, will have the company’s logo incorporated in the show’s set design and graphics package.
Raab took over for Jon Litner in April, after Litner was promoted to president of Comcast SportsNet.
“Daily News Live” airs live at 5 p.m. and re-airs at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. On average, 15,000 people view the three airings combined per night. “The ratings are OK,” Raab said. “They have been getting steadily better. [The show] is finding its place.”
Raab hopes the show becomes more interactive with its viewers, similar to the remote editions from Shea Stadium during the Subway Series, May 18-20. Starting June 23, SNY plans to broadcast its Wednesday evening shows outside the network’s Manhattan studio, across from Radio City Music Hall.
The show’s set design comes a little more than a year after the network’s launch. Network executives are expecting the new design to be more conducive to having the panelists debate topics. That’s why the new design employs a roundtable setting and a locker-room feel, featuring uniforms and equipment from some of New York’s professional teams.
