TicketsNow signs its first team deal with the Ravens
Published May 29, 2006
TicketsNow.com, an Illinois-based secondary ticketing provider, has signed its first sponsorship deal with a pro sports team, inking a multiyear contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
The company in March hired StubHub executive Jeff Berman with an eye to follow that company’s history of signing traditional sponsorships with pro and college teams and using such deals to boost access to potential customers. Unlike StubHub and fellow secondary provider RazorGator, however, TicketsNow.com only builds inventory from prescreened, licensed brokers and does not take sale listings from the general public.
“We’re beginning to get some very solid traction on our business plan and the kind of security and user experience we offer,” said Berman, vice president of strategic partnerships for TicketsNow.com. “This is the first of more deals to come.”
Agreements with two major college athletic programs are expected during June, company officials said.
