The Atlanta Braves promoted Dayton Moore to assistant general manager, baseball operations.

The Detroit Tigers hired Ron Wade as marketing coordinator. Wade was group sales manager for the St. Paul (Minn.) Saints of the independent Northern League.

The Continental Basketball Association named Doug Rogan supervisor of officials.

The Charlotte Bobcats named Michael Behrman senior vice president of finance.

The WNBA’s San Antonio Silver Stars added the title of general manager to coach Dan Hughes.

Palace Sports and Entertainment promoted Joe Biondo to assistant controller of financial operations and Kristin Frisbie to assistant controller of financial reporting.

Ellerbe Becket named Daniel Bundy interior project manager.


Robert Jeffrey was named executive director of the PGA Tour’s Booz Allen Classic in Bethesda, Md. Jeffrey was tournament director for the 2005 PGA Championship.

The Phoenix Coyotes named Bob Heethuis radio play-by-play announcer and former NHL player Louie DeBrusk radio color analyst. Heethuis was studio host for Coyotes radio broadcasts as well as pregame, intermission and postgame shows.

The Springfield (Mass.) Falcons of the American Hockey League hired Steve Pomerantz as an account executive.

The Atlanta Thrashers promoted Larry Simmons to vice president and assistant general manager.

The Columbus Blue Jackets named Joe Cote inside sales manager, Jim Levin and Corey Rowe season-ticket sales account executives, Amanda Horning and Andy Hire season-ticket services representatives, Valerie Ott group sales account executive and Kristin Anderson coordinator of premium sales/service.

The New York Islanders named Jim Morlock media relations coordinator and Corey Witt media relations assistant.

The St. Louis Blues hired Jason Roeslein as a group sales representative. Roeslein was director of group sales for the Frontier League’s Gateway Grizzlies of Sauget, Ill.

The Calgary Flames named Mark Stiles corporate, key account manager. Stiles will continue to work for the Flames’ pay-per-view broadcast team.

The Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League named Brad Curle broadcast/communications coordinator. Curle was play-by-play announcer for the Lethbridge (Alberta) Hurricanes.

Grand Central Marketing hired Ted Skala as account director.

MSL Sports named Larry Blustein and Charles Fishbein scouting reporters for and promoted Chuck Muncie to vice president of new business development and Sara Ellison to vice president of operations.

Octagon hired Andrew Darrow as vice president of the company’s music and entertainment division. Darrow was chief strategy officer for Meca Communications.

Youth Sports Marketing LLC hired Cristina Alvarez as project coordinator.

ABC Regional Sports Sales named Bill Kain, Luke Dunn and Steve Culkar national marketing executives. Kain (New York region) was vice president of corporate and community relations with the New York Islanders, Dunn (Dallas region) was a national account manager at Learfield Sports and Culkar (Atlanta region) was national sales manager at Sunshine Network/Fox Sports Net.

Backpacker magazine hired Allison Hudson as account manager. Hudson comes to Backpacker from Health magazine.

Comcast SportsNet named Allan Singer senior vice president of sports business development and Michael Sheehey senior vice president of sports content. Singer was senior vice president of programming investments at Comcast, and Sheehey was vice president of sports content for Comcast.

Basil DeVito Jr. was named president of NTRA Productions. DeVito was president of IX Television and Entertainment. He was the NTRA’s senior vice president of television and sponsorship from 1998 to 1999.


The Chicago Storm of the Major Indoor Soccer League named Brian Loftin chief operating officer. Loftin was vice president of business development for the Milwaukee Wave.

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corp. hired Barry Emerson as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.

PrestoSports hired Chris Gonzales as director of sales. Gonzales comes to PrestoSports from Sports Systems Services Inc.

The Tiger Woods Foundation named Damian Areyan director of business development. Areyan was manager, corporate partnerships for AEG/Staples Center.
