ESPN adds to international rights for Open

ESPN has reached a four-year agreement with the United States Tennis Association for rights to the U.S. Open Tennis Championships for Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa, beginning with this year’s Open.

ESPN International now has exclusive television rights to the Open in all of Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa, and rights to all four of tennis’ grand slams. ESPN International previously had rights to the Open in just four Latin American countries: Chile, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.

The rights now extend to more than 90 territories and countries.

The coverage will be in Spanish and English. No financial terms were available.
