AOL signs PGA broadband deal

AOL Sports has signed a deal with the PGA Tour that will give AOL for Broadband members access to audio and video content for every PGA Tour and World Golf Championship event through 2005.

The PGA Tour will provide a two- to five-minute audio/video preview show for every tournament, as well as a one- to three-minute audio/video highlight package at the end of play each day during a tournament.

The deal also means AOL for Broadband now offers video content for the four major sports leagues as well as NASCAR, ATP tennis and PGA golf.

“It’s kind of like the last cog in the wheel [for AOL],” said Carlos Silva, senior vice president of news and sports for AOL programming.

Financial terms of the deal were not available.
