Soccer’s Wagner signs with SFX
Published February 3, 2003
U.S. women's soccer team member and college soccer standout Aly Wag-ner signed with SFX Sports Group for representation.
Wagner, who will graduate from Santa Clara University this year, was projected to be the top draft pick in the WUSA draft Sunday.
The decision to sign Wagner was made because of her on-field talent but also because of her personality and intelligence, said Josh Schwartz, director of talent for SFX Sports Group.
"She is very marketable," Schwartz said, adding that her presence this season in the WUSA and on the national team during the coming World Cup and Olympics will only increase her marketplace value.
Wagner, who became eligible for representation in mid-December after completing her final season at Santa Clara, does not have any endorsement deals.
