Verizon backs RSN show
Verizon Wireless signed a deal to become title sponsor of "Daily News Live," a sports roundtable discussion program that airs weekdays on Comcast SportsNet. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The program features sports reporters from the Philadelphia Daily News and satellite interviews with sports personalities from across the country.
Jags switching supermarkets
The Jacksonville Jaguars have dropped their six-season deal with Jacksonville-based grocery chain Winn-Dixie in favor of a tentative agreement with Lakeland-based Publix Supermarkets. Neither side would disclose terms. The switch is the second major change on the Jaguars' sponsorship roster this month. The team recently named Coggin Automotive Group its official automotive sponsor, nudging Southern Ford Dealers onto the sidelines. Southern Ford still has a reduced sponsorship with the team.
Scissors maker bags golfer
Wisconsin-based Fiskars Consumer Products, which markets orange-handled scissors, will sponsor LPGA Tour player Pamela Kerrigan. Kerrigan will wear Fiskars-branded apparel and carry a Fiskars golf bag.
