 Indy names official watch

Maurice Lacroix Swiss Watches was named the official watch of the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard 400 and the Indy Racing League. The winner of the 2001 Indianapolis 500 will receive an 18-karat rose-gold Maurice Lacroix Indy 500 Masterpiece Flyback Annuaire. Only 200 such timepieces are being made for the event, commemorating the 200 laps of the race.

 Bucks bag Klement's deli

The Milwaukee Bucks signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Milwaukee-based Klement's deli.

 Suit targets Reynolds ads

Washington state filed a lawsuit last week against R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. to force compliance with the 1998 tobacco settlement, according to Attorney General Christine Gregoire's office. The lawsuit accuses the tobacco company of violating limits set by the settlement on outdoor advertising at Winston-sponsored events at Seattle International Raceway and Evergreen Speedway in Monroe. Outdoor advertising is allowed at the event site from 90 days before the event to 10 days after. Attorneys general in Arizona, California and Ohio also filed lawsuits against the company accusing them of violating advertising limitations.

 Fila, Philippoussis sign deal

Fila completed its contract extension for tennis player Mark Philippoussis. Fila had agreed in September to a three-year deal, believed to be worth about $4.5 million plus incentives for performance. Fila and Octagon, Philippoussis' agent, recently signed the contract.

  Rush signs 3 sponsors

The Arena Football League's Chicago Rush announced sponsorship agreements with Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola and Goodyear Tires. The Rush will open its inaugural season next month.
