Conference ends in-house marketing
Published June 19, 2000
The Mid-American Conference has agreed to outsource its marketing rights to Cavs/Gund Arena Co., the ownership group for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Rockers and Gund Arena.
Conference marketing was previously done in-house, said Bob Gennarelli, the MAC's associate commissioner for external operations, but because the conference will hold its basketball championships at Gund Arena through 2002, extending marketing rights to the entire conference made perfect sense.
