Flames re-sign sponsor
Coca-Cola Bottling Co. signed a new five-year sponsorship deal with the Calgary Flames through the 2004-05 NHL season. Coca-Cola has been associated with the team since the Flames' first season in Calgary in 1980.
Airgas South joins race team
Atlanta-based Airgas South Inc. signed as a product sponsor for the Steve Dale Enterprises team in the American Speed Association racing series. The company is a distributor of industrial, medical and specialty gases and related equipment. Airgas South is a subsidiary of Radnor, Pa.-based Airgas Inc.
Bank gets Jackets, Fever
Bank One is teaming with the NHL expansion Columbus Blue Jackets to offer Blue Jackets Banking at its more than 200 branches in Ohio. The consumer checking account features checks with Blue Jackets images. The promotion is part of a six-year affiliation between the team and the bank and is valued in the low seven figures. Bank One was based in Columbus before the lender's merger last year with First Chicago NBD and the merged company's relocation of its headquarters to Chicago.
GMAC signs with bowl
GMAC Financial Services signed as a co-title sponsor for the annual bowl game in Mobile, Ala. The city of Mobile is the other title sponsor. This year's GMAC Mobile Alabama Bowl is scheduled for Dec. 20.
Wilson hires Portland agency
Wilson Team Sports, a division of Chicago-based Wilson Sporting Goods Co., hired Media Cabin of Portland to handle its public relations, advertising and promotional work for its 2001 line of basketball, baseball, football and softball products.
