Franchise Notes: Cape Town City Close To Owning Hartleyvale Stadium, Owner Says

South African Premier Soccer League side Cape Town City Owner John Comitis revealed the club is "edging closer to owning and revamping Hartleyvale Stadium." Comitis has "always been vocal" about the club owning its stadium. He said, "I have a signed lease in my hand, we are going full speed ahead. We want Capetonians to be the first city that can come and watch their team in the future at its own stadium with its own personal signature on it, so they feel part of something that they can see and touch" (SPORT24, 1/18).

Moroccan football agent Abdallah Lemsagam's takeover of League One club Oldham Athletic has moved closer after "productive talks" with the English Football League. Lemsagam has been negotiating with Oldham Chair Simon Corney for "several months" (BBC, 1/18).

Three directors from motorsports awning and equipment supplier Gala Performance announced the formation of their own race team and invested in a Citroën C1. The Gala Performance Motorsport team consists of Gala Tent Dirs Andrew Scott and Mark Thompson and Gala Graphics Managing Dir Glen Robinson. Gala Tent Ltd. is the parent company of Gala Performance (BDAILY, 1/18).
