Mediaset España Secures Free-To-Air Rights To Spain's Copa Del Rey

Mediaset España secured the free-to-air broadcast rights for five games in the final rounds of Spain’s Copa del Rey. Under the terms of the agreement inked with Mediapro, Mediaset will air Thursday's Leganés vs. Real Madrid game on Telecinco, the only quarterfinal match to be covered by the media group (RAPID TV NEWS, 1/17).

SOCIAL SETTING: Primeira Liga side Braga used a video clip on social media in which it swipes left on a "Tinder-style dating app" after being paired with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Michy Batshuayi and pie-eating goalkeeper Wayne Shaw. The club then "swipes right" to announce its double signing of Ricardo Ryller and Andrej Lukić (ESPN.com, 1/17).

EXTENDING REACH: Czech-based broadcaster Nova Group secured the broadcasting rights to the Europa League until '21. Its viewers will be able to watch games from the competition for the next three seasons on channels Nova Sport 1 and Nova Sport 2 as well as on video portal Voyo, which will show "at least four games per day" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 1/17).
