Marketplace Roundup: Mobile Phone Developer Sirin Labs Signs Messi As Brand Ambassador

Sirin Labs, the developer of the Solarin ultra-secure mobile phone, signed Barcelona's Lionel Messi "as its brand ambassador." The company did not reveal the financials of the deal. Sirin Labs Founder & CEO Moshe Hogeg said that the company wants to "secure a longterm partnership" with the footballer (COIN SPEAKER, 12/10).

Lagardère Sports partnered with esports team H2K. It is Lagardère's fourth partnership with an esports team since its market entry this year. Its primary roles will be to help the team acquire sponsors and expand and optimize the team's marketing opportunities. The agency will also set up creative activation promotions and secure thematic partnerships (Lagardère Sports).

Essex County Cricket Club agreed to a three-year sponsorship with financial services firm Scrutton Bland. It extends an existing relationship to make the company the "first sponsor of the Premier Suite at The Cloudfm County Ground" (EAST ANGLIAN DAILY TIMES, 12/12).

EuroLeague Basketball and Russian bookmaker Fonbet agreed to a two-year deal that makes Fonbet the official Russian betting partner for the top club competitions in continental basketball. The partnership covers all EuroLeague and EuroCup games. In the event a Russian club advances to the EuroLeague Final Four or the EuroCup Finals, Fonbet will become an official sponsor of those events (EuroLeague Basketball). 

The Chinese Tennis Association announced a four-year partnership with Head, effective from '18. The sports equipment brand will be the exclusive official tennis ball provider for all of the Chinese tennis governing body's events, as well as becoming the exclusive supplier of tennis racquet stringing services (SPORTS PRO MEDIA, 12/12).

Malaysian sports drink 100PLUS announced a five-year agreement worth RM6M ($1.5M) to be the official beverage partner for the Kuala Lumpur Sports City, effective Jan. 1. 100PLUS will be available exclusively throughout KL Sports City (MALAYSIAN DIGEST, 12/12).
