Facility Notes: Bristol City Formally Submits Plans For New Training Ground

League Championship side Bristol City "formally submitted plans for a new training ground." The proposed extension to the club's base in Failand, north Somerset, includes a 500-seat floodlit show pitch, two full-size pitches and two training areas. Club CEO Mark Ashton said that the revamp would provide the club's academy and first team with "an elite performance environment," including a gym and medical facilities (BBC, 12/11).

London's first "hi-tech" indoor mini-golf center
will open at Westfield London in White City in March. The 20,000-square-foot Puttshack is being billed as the world’s only "super-tech" mini-golf center and will feature four courses and a 750-seat bar. A mini-computer equipped with new tracking technology will be embedded in each ball and screens will show video highlights (London EVENING STANDARD, 12/12).
