Marketplace Roundup: Rio Ferdinand, Sports Direct Launch FIVE Collection

Former footballer Rio Ferdinand "joined forces" with Sports Direct to launch his new FIVE collection. Launching with a new film for the collection, Rio collaborated with social poet Suli Breaks to get his message across: "Let them look, let them talk, let them laugh ... just remember who you are. You are the future." Athletes appearing in the film include British boxer Charlie Edwards and League Championship side Reading striker Sam Smith (SPORT INDUSTRY, 12/11).

The FA of Malaysia partnered with probiotic dairy products manufacturer Yakult. The three-year deal, which begins in January, names Yakult Malaysia as the official probiotic drink of the FAM. The deal will be worth RM3.9M ($957,600) and includes product sponsorship of the Yakult Ace and Yakult Ace Light drinks worth RM200,000 ($49,100) per year (SPORT BUSINESS, 12/11).

Australian Football League side St. Kilda signed dog food manufacturer Eukanuba as its pet membership sponsor. The club said that Eukanuba will "come on board from next year" (TRIPLE M, 12/11).
