Mexico City Expects Economic Impact Of More Than $45M From NFL Game

The Mexico City government expects Sunday's NFL game between the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders to generate an economic impact of more than the $45M generated in '16, according to Ilich Valdez of LA AFICIÓN. Mexico City Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera said that it "was a dream for the city to host an NFL game," as last year's game was seen by nearly 25 million fans in Mexico. Mancera: "The NFL realized that we want it here in Mexico City, so I'm sure we are going to have the NFL for a while." He added that last year's game between the Raiders and Houston Texans generated more than 2,800 jobs in the city. Mancera claimed that only six U.S. cities have more NFL fans than Mexico City (LA AFICIÓN, 11/13).
