La Liga Side Real Sociedad To Hold Presidential Election In December

La Liga side Real Sociedad will move up its presidential election by one year, and incumbent Jokin Aperribay "will run for re-election," according to Roberto Ramajo of AS. The reason the club's administrative council moved up the election "is the stability of the project to remodel Anoeta Stadium." The election will be held on Dec. 13, when the club will announce its financial results for last year and the current season. Renovations to Anoeta Stadium are expected to be complete by Aug. '19, and Aperribay "wants to remain president until the project is finished" (AS, 10/31). In Madrid, Óscar Badallo reported Real Sociedad's '17-18 budget includes a projected profit of €15M ($17.5M). The club expects to spend €85.1M ($99.2M) and earn more than €100M ($116.5M), "with details to be provided at the shareholders meeting in December" (MARCA, 10/31).
