Australian Football League side Western Bulldogs is expected to be "officially informed" of AMEET BAINS' appointment as the club's new CEO on Monday. Bains' appointment is "set to be confirmed this week," with the outgoing St. Kilda COO becoming the club's fourth CEO in three years (THE AGE, 10/22). ... MP & Silva’s board appointed SEAMUS O’BRIEN as president and group CEO, effective Jan. 1. O’Brien has over 30 years’ experience in exec positions in the int’l sports industry. Former CEO JOCHEN LÖSCH becomes a senior consultant to MP & Silva (MP & Silva). ... Stockholm-listed Aspire Global appointed MORTEN HAUGE as its new head of sports, ahead of the launch of its sports betting product. Hauge has more than 12 years' experience from leading operators including Unibet, Betfair and Betsson (GAMING INTELLIGENCE, 10/20).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Ligue 1 side Metz fired Manager PHILIPPE HINSCHBERGER. The club is last in the league with nine losses in 10 matches. Reserves coach JOSÉ PINOT was named interim head coach (Metz). ... LUIZ FELIPE SCOLARI will leave Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande after "almost three years in charge," he said. The 68-year-old has a contract until the end of November but "turned down the chance to extend the deal" (REUTERS, 10/19). ... Hungary appointed ZOLTÁN SZÉLESI as interim national football team coach on Friday in place of BERND STORCK, who quit last week after the team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. The Hungarian FA said on its Facebook page that Szélesi, who was a member of Storck's coaching staff, "will be in charge for the remaining fixtures this year" (REUTERS, 10/20).
