Tottenham On Target To Break Premier League Attendance Record Against Bournemouth

Tottenham is "expected to break the 10-year-old Premier League attendance record" when it hosts Bournemouth at Wembley on Saturday, according to Riath Al-Samarrai of the London DAILY MAIL. Ticket sales are reportedly "fast closing in on the current record" of 76,098 -- set when ManU beat Blackburn 4-1 at Old Trafford in March '07. Of 158 sections at the 90,000-capacity national stadium, "only five still have limited availability of tickets for the clash against struggling Bournemouth." It is likely that Tottenham will "still fall short" of the club record attendance of 85,512, set at Wembley against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last season (DAILY MAIL, 10/11).'s Dan Kilpatrick reported Saturday's match is on general sale to the public and the club is "still yet to make all sections of the national stadium available." Tottenham is "urging all supporters with tickets to arrive early" for the 3pm kickoff to avoid congestion entering the ground. The club has confirmed that Wembley's top tier will be closed for the English Football League Cup fourth-round match against West Ham on Oct. 25, "so the capacity will be limited to 70,000 for the London derby" (, 10/12).
