England To Remain Based At St. George's Park Throughout Euro 2020

The FA, which has spent months going on a series of trips to Russia to look at England's hotel and training-base options for next year's World Cup, faces a "far simpler process for the next major tournament," according to Charles Sale of the London DAILY MAIL. With Euro 2020 matches being shared between 13 cities, the expectation within the FA is that the England squad "will be based at St. George's Park throughout and commute to games across Europe from there" -- with the semifinals and final being staged at Wembley. Whether the players "want to be isolated in the Staffordshire countryside for such a long period is another matter." They have not been "keen to do so in the past." FA CEO Martin Glenn made it part of England Manager Gareth Southgate's contract that he "embraced the facilities" at St. George's -- which the England manager "seems happy to do" (DAILY MAIL, 10/8).
