Media Notes: Content Arena To Make Official Debut At Sportel Monaco

Content Arena will make its official debut at Sportel Monaco this month. Founded by a team of industry experts, the platform seeks to facilitate trading between market players by offering a one-stop marketplace that provides selling and buying options as well as additional services that help to manage and automate the rights trading process. Key features of Content Arena are the automated creation of legal documents, rights portfolio management, secure payment processes as well as the option to manage the technical content distribution (Content Arena).

Sports portal DAZN will "show all games of the UEFA Europa League live in Germany and Austria in the next three seasons." The rights package, for which financial details have not been disclosed, starts with the '18-19 season. The subscription OTT service "will transmit all 205 games of the Europa League, 190 of them exclusively." Fifteen matches will be screened in parallel by a free-to-air TV partner (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 10/4).

Polish DTH platform nc+ has taken "significant steps to tackle the illegal distribution of leading sports events to which it holds the rights." In the first eight months of '17 this involved "either the blocking or removal of over 1,500 clips or streams of football games from the Champions League, Premier League and Poland’s Ekstraklasa" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 10/5).
