Liberty Global Reaches Deal To Offer Red Bull Media House Content On MySports

Telecom Liberty Global's Swiss and Austrian unit formed an exclusive partnership with Red Bull Media House "to include the latter's content on the new MySports premium sports offering," according to DIGITAL TV EUROPE. MySports will carry existing Red Bull content including the Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) Mountain Bike World Cup and Red Bull Crashed Ice competitions "as well as new content created within the partnership." MySports, which will launch in Austria on Friday, will also carry volleyball and basketball tournaments as well as motorsports and freestyle sports. The content will be shown on basic channel MySports HD as well as in the broader MySports Pro channel package. The cooperation with Red Bull Media House will "initially run for three years" (DIGITAL TV EUROPE, 9/6). BROADBAND TV NEWS' Jörn Krieger reported the agreement, for which "financial details have not been disclosed," also covers the Red Bull Air Race as well as motorsports highlights like the FIA World Rally Championships. In addition to live sports events, the MySports schedule will include features and documentaries from Red Bull's program makers (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 9/5).
