Franchise Notes: Force India Drivers Crash Out At Belgian GP

Force India Formula 1 drivers Sergio Pérez and Esteban Ocon "collided with a podium finish in sight" at the Belgian Grand Prix. The crash means the team is "unlikely to field the same lineup next year." After the race, Ocon tweeted that Pérez tried to "kill me 2 times" (LONDON TIMES, 8/28).

National Rugby League side Cronulla Sharks asked the NRL to "break with tradition" if the club secures a top four spot and schedule its first finals game on Sunday to ensure the club is not "shackled by a short recovery period." The Sharks are the only confirmed top eight side that will be required to play on the final day of the regular season, "sparking fears" the club could be "disadvantaged" in the first week of the playoffs with a quick turnaround (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 8/28).
