Media Notes: GiveMeSport's PGA Coverage On Facebook Draws 1.2 Million

Sports publication GiveMeSport's live coverage of the U.S. PGA Championship drew more than 1.2 million unique viewers. The tournament was livestreamed by GiveMeSport on Facebook Live for the first time, delivering a total of 1.34 million video streams in the U.K. and Ireland. Almost half of the audience was between 18 and 34 years old, with a heavily male skew. This is significantly younger than traditional TV audiences for the sport (Breaking Data Corp.).

FIBA launched the free EuroBasket 2017 app, presented by global FIBA partner Tissot, which offers a unique personalization experience for each fan. The app was developed by Infront's subsidiary, OMNIGON. It is available for Android and iOS devices (FIBA).

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will transmit its Formula 1 coverage in Ultra HD in Germany and Austria "from this weekend for the first time." The native Ultra HD signal produced by Sky UK will be available from "all qualification rounds and races of the remaining nine Grand Prix weekends with the exception of the qualification for the Grand Prix in Mexico" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/24).

German pay-TV motorsports channel Motorvision TV "will become available on Unitymedia's cable network in September." The move marks the return of Motorvision TV on German cable "following the separation from pay-TV platform Sky Deutschland" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/24).

The 2017 Men's European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) European Volleyball Championship will be broadcast in 188 countries, via 34 TV broadcasters and six radio stations (Infront).
