Ping An Insurance Group Denies Reports It Is In Talks To Buy Stake In ManU

Chinese company Ping An Insurance Group denied reports it has been "in discussions to buy a stake" in ManU, according to Sacha Pisani of GOAL. A "mysterious" Chinese buyer reportedly expressed an interest in purchasing a holding in the club, which is owned by the Glazer family. However, Ping An Insurance Group "distanced itself" from the rumors on Monday. Ping An spokesperson Sheng Ruisheng said, "The information is false. Ping An have not been involved in any discussion on purchasing a holding in Manchester United. ... Please don't believe rumors" (GOAL, 8/7).
